How to charge your crystals?

Bijgewerkt op: 25 okt. 2022

Sometimes you notice that your stone no longer 'works' as well. But of course you don't get a 10% battery notification. You feel that your stone needs some extra attention. For some this is after a week, for others after a month. Stones where many people (as in energies) are around often lose their energy faster than stones that are only used by you.

Does this sound vague? We often tend to label everything that we cannot perceive with our standard 5 senses 'vague'. Bear with me here...

If a stone no longer does its job properly, or you have the feeling that the stone is becoming a bit dull, return the stone to nature:

1. Water

2. Sunlight

3. Sand

4. Moonlight

5. Air

6. Fire

1. Water

Rinsing with water is the first step. Saltwater is also fine, but don't be too hard on yourself. Plain tap water is fine. Please note that if your stone hangs on a necklace, you must pay attention to whether the chain itself can withstand water. Stainless steel or silver is fine, but the gold-plated will naturally discolor if you rinse it 3x a day.

2. Sunlight

Some light stones (Rose quartz) are more sensitive to this than other stones because they can discolor when exposed to bright sunlight for a long time. But if you wear a necklace with precious stones outside in nature, in the sun, that also helps with the effect.

3. Sand

Dig in! Also pay close attention to the chain here; is it made of steel or are there steel parts on the chain? Then they will discolor. But for the stone itself, it's a very good idea to dig the stone in for 24 hours to recharge.

4. Moonlight

The most popular way, especially with a full moon because that's when the moon's power is strongest. Put the stones outside, in sight of the moon, for at least 24 hours. So not just a few hours at night! If it rains and you prefer not to let the jewelry around it get wet, the stones can also be placed on the windowsill. All types of moons help, but the full moon has the most impact by far.

5. Air

Just wearing your gemstone on your body already helps with charging. Don't be too hard on yourself: it's not like a stone goes all the way back to 0% before it can be recharged. Wearing a gemstone draws energy from it, but the air, sun and wind also charge it at the same time.

6. Fire

Light a candle, change the energy in your home with some burnt sage, let the smoke pass over your gem. This too is bringing your gem back to nature. But the gems you have in your house are also quietly charged when you burn a candle on a Saturday evening.

Conclusion? As long as you don't just leave the stones in a sealed plastic bag at the bottom of a dark drawer, you don't have to worry about weekly charging. Think logically and don't worry if you miss a full moon.

The stones of Wild Stones Amsterdam are always charged in the last full moon. We sell loose stones but also gemstone (minimalist) jewelry on stainless steel gold-plated chains from Italy. Look at all types here and choose by effect!
